New Winner Announcements & Rafflecopter Giveaway Check In (Feedback Appreciated)

I just wanted to let everyone know about a new way I’m going to draw winners now. I think this will make it much easier for me. You will still be able to find winners, and I will still notify by email.

With all the Rafflecopter giveaways I’m doing, they have an easy way to draw winners. They will automatically draw a winner (using random.org) on their website when I access the closed giveaway. Then I can “announce” the winner for everyone to see on that Rafflecopter form on my blog.

So with that feature, here is what I did with the last winner:

1- I “announced” it on the giveaway form- http://psmomreviews.blogspot.com/2011/07/i-love-toy-trains-all-aboard-dvd-review.html. (If you scroll to the Rafflecopter form, you’ll see what I mean.)

2- I change the title to say “closed”.

3- I wrote at the top of the post that it’s closed and listed the winner.

4- I closed comments on the post and removed it from the giveaway list on the side of my blog.

5- I emailed the winner and confirmed their win.

For me this is so much easier than the winner posts I have been doing. But what do you, dear readers think about the new winner announcements?

And since we’re talking about Rafflecopter giveaways…Do you like entering with Rafflecopter on my blog?

I have been doing all my giveaways with Rafflecopter now. It’s so much easier to manage. And since I have lots of giveaways running all the time, this is better for me.

I do worry that if you come to the main page, you can’t get to the Rafflecopter forms directly. But it’s easy to get to the giveaway. All you need to do is click on that blog post, or click on the “read more” link at the bottom.

I also think that the Rafflecopter forms are so much easier to enter on. So, I need some feedback from you.

Do you still like the Rafflecopter entry?
Do you mind that I’m currently only offering that form of entry?
Have you had any issues with the Rafflecopter form? If so, what?

Thanks for your input. I care about what you think. I wouldn’t have this blog without you! Have a great weekend!

  1. I entered blog giveaways all last year, and stopped for several months. Now I'm restarting, and have discovered that many blogs(including yours) are using Rafflecopter.
I LOVE Rafflecopter - it is a great deal faster and easier than other systems. I always hated form entry systems, and comment entries often required the pasting of email address in public, or having to wait between posting comments.
Rafflecopter eliminates a lot of that hassle.
The only problems I've found with it so far is that if I clear cookies, it doesnt 'remember' that I entered a giveaway in the past.

Rafflecopter is way ahead of the other options though!

  4. I love, love, love Rafflecopter. Even with the occasional Rafflecopter glitch, it is still MUCH faster than posting lots of comments on a slow internet connection. Now that I know you are only using Rafflecopter I will be sure to check out your giveaways more often - and I think I will hop over and enter one right now!

  7. I do like Rafflcopter. I have only one problem with it. Sometimes the form resets after I have entered, which maks me question if I have already entered or not.

  8. I love Rafflecopter. It is so easy to enter. I like how you, the hosting blogger, can pick the winner simply and easily--I wish it would just pick me more often!;-)

  11. I enter blog giveaways as a hobby since I lost my job several months ago and using Rafflecopter has made it all the more fun. I love how quick and easy it is using rafflecopter and now I am pretty much only entering giveaways that use the rafflecopter form. If I could change anything about rafflecopter, I would make it so that you can go back in and correct a mistake after you have clicked “I Did This” and I would like to see the form keep track of who has entered so that you are not able to accidentally enter the same contest twice. That has happened to me when several bloggers are offering the same giveaway and I forget which ones I have already entered. All-in-all, I love using rafflecopter!

  12. I love rafflecopter--the only way to enter giveaways! I use them on my blog, and it makes things so much easier. The only trouble I find is when bloggers don't take the time to check out their links and I have to hunting for what they are talking about. Keep it up!

  13. I love using the new form. Because they use cookies to track the entries, you cannot move from one computer to another and enter the more daily tweets. They said that ver 2.0 would have a different based way of tracking entries.
