John Frieda Frizz-Ease Curl Reviver Styling Mousse & Frizz-Ease Moisture Barrier Firm Hold Hairspray

The product:

In celebration of New York Fashion Week, Rose Byrne attended Lucky Magazine’s party aboard the “M/Y Emelina” at the Marina at Chelsea Piers. John Frieda® International Creative Consultant Harry Josh gave Rose a yacht-worthy look – big, frizz-free glamorous waves.
Description: cid:image001.jpg@01CD91CB.DC4E9AE0         Description: cid:image002.jpg@01CD91CB.DC4E9AE0

To achieve this look at home:

STEP 1: First apply John Frieda® Frizz-Ease® Curl Reviver Styling Mousse evenly through towel-dried hair and brush to uniformly distribute product. This non-sticky, alcohol-free formula tames frizz, boosts shine and restores bounce to tired waves.

STEP 2: Next blow dry hair completely. Once dry, in small sections wrap hair vertically around a 1-inch curling iron like a tinsel and curl the hair away from the face – from the root to the ends. Break up the curls by running your fingers through them.

STEP 3:  To finish and set the look, mist hair with Frizz-Ease® Moisture Barrier Firm-Hold Hair Spray. It’s a fast-drying, shine boosting formula that lasts long and creates an instant barrier to help seal out humidity and combat frizz, rain or shine.

NEW At-Home Colour from John Frieda

Did you know that the most common blends that you’ll see your colorist mix when at the salon are NOT the ones you’ll find on the shelf for at-home color?  Well, the John Frieda® Hair Care experts have been working to fix this problem… enter the new Precision Foam Colour Salon Blends!

“When my clients come into the salon, I use colors from a professional shade palette to create exclusive blends customized to their skin tone and desired color,” explains John Frieda® Creative Colour Director Nicola Clarke. “The shades I create shades are hugely popular because you typically can’t get them in home hair color —it takes a professional to blend the basic tones expertly. I worked with John Frieda® Hair Care to share some of the most popular, flattering blends I create at the salon, transforming them into shades of Precision Foam Colour.”

The product: The five new colors of Precision Foam Colour Salon Blends include:
  • Dark Caramel Blonde (Natural/Beige/Gold)
  • Dark Cool Pearl Blonde (Pearl/Beige/Natural)
  • Lightest Cool Almond Brown (Pearl/Beige/Natural)
  • Light Bronze Brown (Natural/Beige/Copper)
  • Light Amber Brown (Natural/Beige/Gold)

Each cost $12.99 and can be found at food, drug and mass retailers nationwide.

What I thought: Well, I did receive the Dark Caramel Blonde Precision Foam Colour Salon Blends. I have never dyed my own hair. Once (in my early 20s) my friend helped me highlight it at home. That didn't turn out so great. It was OK, but we got too much on top so it looked silly for  while. After that I started having blonde highlights put into my hair at a salon. It was a good look for me, and I was always nervous about completely coloring it.

So when I got the John Frieda color, I thought it looked like a great one. I thought I'd be brave enough to give it a try. But I guess I'm still nervous about coloring my hair completely. I have no doubts that I will probably do it some day when I have some grays to cover up. For now I'm pretty fortunate that I haven't seen any of those yet.

When I decide to give it a try, I'll be sure to tell you what I think. In the meantime, I like the idea of this Salon Blends color. I think it will be great color to try.

Where to buy: Each cost about $12.00 and you can find them at food, drug and mass retailers nationwide.

How to connect: Learn more about Precision Foam Colour at http://www.johnfrieda.com/en-US/homecolour/precision-foam-colour/shades.aspx. And you can see other products from John Frieda at http://www.johnfrieda.com/en-US/Home/.

Boo! Shampoo & Leave-in Conditioner

Do you worry about your children this time of year? Not only are the germs going around at school, but so is the lice. Yuck! It makes me itchy just thinking about it. It's tough when I have to send my kid to school in a hat and coat because it's cold. And I know that hat and coat hangs right by everyone else's in the class. So far we have not had problems being exposed to lice in Kindergarten, but if we do I will turn to So Cozy Boo! Shampoo and Leave-in Conditioner.

This special shampoo and conditioner will help repel lice. Now you don't have to worry about your child getting it at all. Just start using it if there's an outbreak at your children's school. Or you can use it all season for further precautions.

Boo! Shampoo and Boo! Leave-In Conditioner, created by kids’ hair authority Cozy Friedman, are gentle enough for everyday use and include ingredients that add body, shine and strength to your child’s hair.  Both contain the invigorating scent of fresh tea tree oil. Designed to be used together for maximum defense, the Boo! duo also provides protection from other insects such as ticks. The set includes:

  • Boo! Shampoo ($14.50): Scare lice away with natural repellents like pure tea treerosemary and lavender oils.  Good-for-you ingredients such as aloe and panthenol soothe the scalp and add body and shine.  To use, apply a modest amount to wet hair and massage into a low lather. Leave in for up to five minutes and rinse.

  • Boo! Leave-In Conditioner ($14.50): This lightweight detangling spray keeps lice on the run with repellent ingredients including tea tree, rosemary and lavender oils. Ultra-healthy aloecalendula, and wheat protein soothe the scalp, strengthen hair and prevent damage from blow drying. To use, lightly mist over the hair and scalp and brush or comb through.  Ideal for use following Boo! Shampoo, the formula can also be applied to dry hair while playing outdoors or anytime you want to strengthen the line of lice defense.

It's easy to use the Boo! Shampoo & Leave-in Conditioner. You just use the shampoo at bath-time like usual. The conditioner can be used any time. You can put it on after bath and leave it sit in the hair or you can use it anytime you know your children need to keep the bugs away. And my favorite part is that these products are made with natural ingredients that help and are good for you too.

You can find the Boo! Shampoo & Leave-in Conditioner at any one of Cozy’s Cuts for Kids three New York City locations: 1125 Madison Avenue and 84thStreet, 212.744.1716; 448 Amsterdam Avenue at 91st Street, 212.579.2600; and 1416 Second Avenue, 74th Street, 212.585.COZY, or by visiting www.socozy.com.

Hot Tot: Hair Styling Products for Babies and Kids

Is your babies hair out of control? Does it make you batty trying to find a good hair care product for your kids that doesn't contain harmful chemicals? Or maybe it's just hard finding children's hair care products in general. I have a company that you'll want to check out for your kids' hair care needs.

Hot Tot is a new company started by a mom with a mission. Megan Gage, the founder of Hot Tot, was looking for salon-quality hair care products for kids without the harmful chemicals. Through a lot of research and work with others, Megan was able to make this happen. She started this company to improve the lives of children and promote a good self-image from an early age.

Another important thing that Hot Tot is passionate about it having a good eco-friendly business. They employ eco-friendly business practices. And a portion of the sales go to charities that benefit children. They can help others and their customers at the same time.

Hot Tot carries a variety of products. You will find Sweet Pea Serum that will give your little tot an adorable curl. Their Conditioning Detangler and Styling Gel help make hair more manageable. Or for a little more style you might like their Structure Whip and Finishing Mist. And the Spotless Tot is a gentle hair and body cleanser for babies and kids. They also have apparel with their logo for babies and children. To learn more about the products, what they do and what they are made with please visit their website- http://www.hottot.com.

We got to try some samples of the Styling Gel and Structure Whip. The styling gel was great for when Zachariah need a little extra control. It helps his hair stay put and helps the frizzy stuff. The structure whip is perfect for fancier styles that need some hold. For my little guy that means spikes and faux-hawks from time to time. These are great for styling his hair without the worries of unwanted chemicals.

For us the gel and structure whip we only use them once in a while. However, it is handy and helpful to have on hand. I am definitely interested in trying the Spotless Tot very soon. This is something that would be easy to use for my son.

You can get these Hot Tot products at a variety of retailers and online stores. Just look here for places near you- http://www.hottot.com/where-to-buy.html.

Dove has a great new line of hair care products- Dove Nourishing Oil Care. Now you can make friends with your unruly hair. And it's hard to tame your mane with this cold, dry weather in winter, but you won't have to worry about that when you're using the Dove Nourishing Oil products this year. And Dove is running a contest right now that you can help with. Here's a little more about it:

OVERCOME UNPREDICTABLE HAIREVERY DAY WITH THE HELP OFDOVE® HAIR AND RASHIDA JONES

“Make Friends with Your Hair” for a chance to star in a national Dove® TV ad

ENGLEWOOD CLIFFS, N.J., Sept. 19, 2011 /PRNewswire/ — Now women everywhere can finally make friends with their dry, unpredictable hair. Dove® Hair Care has teamed up with actress Rashida Jones to launch the Dove® “Make Friends with Your Hair” campaign. The campaign invites women to share their most unpredictable hair stories to help them end their frustration with unmanageable hair that has a mind of its own. Three real women will have their hair transformed by Dove® Celebrity Stylist Mark Townsend with one starring in a national Dove Hair TV ad.
One in three women experiences dry, rough and frizzy hair that is unpredictable and frustrating to manage. Rashida Jones will address the issue and dramatize the humorous, yet real, relatable struggles that women face with their hair in a series of fun ads to inspire women to participate in the campaign. Thanks to the new Dove® Nourishing Oil Care collection, which takes care of dry, rough and frizzy hair, women can now have soft, smooth and shiny hair every day.
“When I’m on the set or just on the go, like most women, I have dealt with the frustration of dry, rough and frizzy hair that seems impossible to manage,” said Jones. “But by sharing our experiences, women can learn from one another and find simple ways to take control of their tricky hair issues.”
THE DOVE® “MAKE FRIENDS WITH YOUR HAIRCAMPAIGN
Dove® and Rashida Jones are inviting women across America to make friends with their hair as two in three women (67 percent)¹ describe their dry, unpredictable hair as having “a mind of its own.” Women can enter the campaign by creating a video up to 90 seconds sharing how their hair has an alter ego by telling a story, acting out a humorous scene or even singing an original song. Three finalists will win a VIP trip to New York and a hair transformation by Townsend. America will then have the opportunity to vote on DoveHair.com/friends and Facebook.com/Dove for their favorite finalist to star in a Dove® Hair TV ad.
  • September 19, 2011 – October 20, 2011 – video entries will be accepted at DoveHair.com/friends.
  • November 9, 2011 – three finalists will be announced and America can vote for their favorite through November 28, 2011.
  • Early December 2011 – selected finalist will be notified.
  • Mid December 2011 – Dove® Hair ad will air on national TV.

Women have a variety of other ways to get involved, hear stories and share their own:
  • Facebook.com/Dove: Fans can interact with one another, ask questions and view how-to hair videos with Dove® Celebrity Stylist Mark Townsend.
  • Twitter (@Dove): Dove® followers can interact with Dove® Hair Care and join a #DoveHairCare “Twitter Party,” where they can discuss their hair struggles and win Dove® Hair Care™ products and other prizes.
  • DoveHair.com/Friends: Everyone can view humorous videos and TV ads depicting women’s bad hair experiences, featuring Rashida Jones.

“Dove® Hair is the expert in dry, damaged hair and understands the different kinds of hair issues women face every day,” said David Rubin, Dove® Hair Care Marketing Director. “Dove® Hair is committed to helping women have beautiful hair.”
DOVE® HAIR TO THE RESCUE
Unpredictable hair is not just a once-in-a-while occurrence for most women, Rashida Jones included. In fact on average, women face three days of dry, unpredictable hair every week.²
“Women experience dry, unpredictable hair and are looking for an easy solution they can achieve themselves,” said Townsend. “I recommend Dove® Nourishing Oil Care Collection to help women maintain the soft, smooth, shiny look they desire.”
The Dove® Nourishing Oil Care collection with Weightless Nutri-Oils – a unique blend of natural almond, coconut and mineral oils – takes care of dry, rough and frizzy hair. Dove® Nourishing Oil Care is the only U.S. brand to formulate hair care products with this combination of oils. When used as a system – along with the shampoo, conditioner and leave-in smoothing cream – it smoothes up to 100 percent of roughness and frizz for soft and shiny hair.

I have been using the Dove Nourishing Oil Care shampoo and conditioner for a little while now. I like that they keep my hair from drying out and getting frizzy with the weather we're having right now. And when I pair the Leave-in Cream and Anti-Frizz Serum with the others, it really helps me out. I love how shiny and silky my hair feels after I've used all the products and dried it. So pretty too!

It may be silly to some, but other than the way the Dove products worked in my hair I noticed something else. The design of these bottles is great. I like that the shampoo and conditioner are in the same style of bottle, but the shampoo opens on top and conditioner on bottom. That makes them so much easier to use.

Be sure to check out the Dove contest finalists. This week they will be revealing the new Dove Real Woman to appear in the latest Dove TV ad. There is still a little time left to go to the Dove Facebook page and vote for your favorite video. And you can check out their how-to videos with hair tips from celebrity stylist Mark Townsend at  www.dovehair.com/friends.

You can find the new Dove Nourishing Oil Hair Care line in your local stores, such as Walgreens.

Trying to balance school, home and other activities of your family can be tough. I don't know about you, but once school started I got busy. Between homework, volunteering in the classroom, field trips and conferences, our schedules fill up quickly. But it's still important to be a woman and care about how I look.

I'm a pretty low-maintenance kind of girl. The older I get the more I care about how I look. I still try to keep things simple, but I want to do what I can too keep my makeup fresh too. Here are some great products to help you out this busy school year. Take a tip from your kids and restock your "pencil case" too:

The Tide to Go Instant Stain Removal is great to keep in your purse or pocket at all times. If your family is like mine, it's easy to get food on clothes at the worst moments. John Frieda Full Repair Shampoo & Conditioner Review

Washing my hair is just part of my regular routine. And as non-picky as I am about most things, I like the shampoo and conditioner I like. Once in a while I'll try something new that promises to be good, but more often than not I'm disappointed and soon back to my old faithful brand that I love. That is until I tried the new John Frieda Full Repair Collection.

John Frieda’s Full Repair Collection is all about reversing what’s been done and protecting your hair from further damage.
“So many women who come into the salon have absolutely destroyed their hair by over-styling, over-coloring, and generally overdoing it,” explains Harry Josh, John Frieda® International Creative Consultant. “They traumatize their hair trying to get a certain look, but then they can’t maximize it because their hair is so fried. Full Repair™ offers them damage control that won’t weigh their hair down, letting them style to the limit while actually reversing the damage they’ve done to date.” The Full Repair collection includes:
  • Full Body Shampoo
  • ($6.99): Formulated with Inca Inchi oil, this bodifying shampoo repairs the look and feel of overworked hair as it weightlessly restores bounce for full, flowing styles.
  • Full Body Conditioner
  • ($6.99): Omega-rich Inca Inchi oil repairs hair as the formula smoothes and detangles, reducing the risk of breakage and snagging when combing or brushing.
  • Protecting Root Lift Foam
  • ($6.99): This lightweight foam protects hair from heat damage with Inca Inchi oil while creating instant body. Work into wet or towel dried hair at the roots for weightless lift and high-volume hair when styled.
  • Perfect Ends Deep Infusion
  • ($9.99): This breakthrough product for Medium-Textured Hair instantly absorbs into damaged strands instead of coating the surface, penetrating hair with Inca Inchi oil to weightlessly reverse the look and feel of damage while protecting hair from heat.
  • Perfect Ends Sheer Mist
  • ($9.99): This softening mist for Fine-Textured Hair protects heat-damaged hair with omega-rich Inca Inchi oil. Spray evenly through clean, wet hair, concentrating on ends and damaged areas to weightlessly repair and promote smooth, healthy strands.
  • Touch-up Flyaway Tamer
  • ($9.99): This portable wand polishes broken strands, smoothing flyaways and frayed ends with Inca Inchi oil to keep hair sleek and smooth. Brush the wand over dry, styled hair for on-the-go touch-ups and a boost of shine.

I have been using the John Frieda Full Repair Shampoo and Conditioner for a while now. I still love it! My hair is fine, thin, and generally flat. And I have problems getting split ends. With this new shampoo and conditioner, my hair has been soft, lighter, and has a little more body. I like the light, pleasant scent of it, and it's easy to apply and rinse out.

If you're looking for a great new hair care line, I think you'll really like the John Frieda Full Repair products. As you can see above there are other things to help in addition to the shampoo and conditioner. You can find these products at major retailers near you, such as Walmart, Target, Walgreen's, CVS and more. And I did find a few of their items on Amazon, like the Shampoo (2 pk) and Conditioner.
