Marley & Me DVD Review & Giveaway (CLOSED)

Marley & Me is being released on DVD and Blu-ray today, March 31st. Twentieth Century Fox Home Entertainment is releasing is on three-disc Blu-ray, two-disc Special Edition and Dingle Disc DVD.

Marley & Me is about a family's life with their dog. The fun, the love, the playfulness, and the pure frustration of dog ownership. Two newspaper writers get married, move, start new jobs, start a family, and go on with all the adventures of their lives. They buy a dog, Marley, and deal with all his eccentric ways. Marley is there during the hard times, and then other times he just is the hard time.

This movie will be a big hit with any dog lovers. And if you're not, you will still get a good laugh out of it, and it just might convince you to never get a dog. After all Marley is "the world's worst dog".

Our family absolutely loved this movie. We have already watched the screener DVD over and over. In fact my son saw my writing this review, and he asked to watch it again...so we are. I believe I can honestly say this is one of the best movies I've seen in a long time.

We have a dog, and therefore are dog lovers. We related to this movie in so many ways. My son, Zachariah, really loved all the silliness and crazy things the dog did. Matt, my husband, also really enjoyed this movie. Well, truthfully he told me he didn't like it, but that was only because it made him cry. Zachariah is young enough that it didn't make him cry, because he didn't really understand all that was happening. This movie will have you laughing and crying and everything in between.

The Blu-ray three-disc offers three different movie formats, dog training trivia, and a digital copy of the movie. The two-disc DVD comes with a digital copy, deleted scenes and more. And there is also the single-disc DVD available.

Yay for new blogs!! :P I had pets all the while growing up but I dont remember what the first one was. I know the very first pet that I owned myself was a cat named "mitsy" when I was 8. She ran away and I've never gotten another pet...hmmm, maybe I've got some repressed feelings there.

Awesome! My first dog was a chocolate lab named Rosie. She was 16 when she had to be put down, and I was 16 as well. I was heartbroken. :( I still tear up when I think about her.

The first dog I ever owned was a shepherd/husky mix dog when I was 10 years old named Nookie. She was so big she took me for walks. During the day, she had to stay in the attached garage while my mom was at work and my sister and I were at school. She dug huge holes in the plaster of the garage wall, drove my mother insane.

I have three dogs now and I love them dearly. My daughter and I have been dying to see this movie; I read the book and loved it.

Hey, great giveaway-- I really wanted to see this one. :)

I had a zillion pets growing up, but the first that was actually mine, was a black cat named Liccorice, Licky for short. She slept with me every day from the time I was 5 until I was 14.

My first dog when I was a kid was called Toby. He was a mutt that used to run off to the local farm shop, steal eggs and bury them. My mum used to get charged each week for the eggs but paid it because Toby was such a character! On one of his trips, he got run over by a police motorbike and we had to have him put down. The policement came back after to ask my mum on a date (she was a single mum) but she declined. Reading this now I see what a bizarre story it is!

I had a wonderful golden retriever named Jesse. She lived for 14 years, so almost my entire childhood. She was such a sweet dog and a wonderful pet. :)

Poofer--my dad's hunting dog. Don't remember much about him but apparently when I was 4-5 years old I tripped and fell in his dog do-do and got it all over myself and even in my hair. My mom had to clean it up--- she does not remember that incident fondly!

I am cracking up reading Pam's story!

We had a black cocker spaniel when I was little named Tony Perez. Tony Perez (the person) played for the Cincinnati Reds, and my parents saw him hit a home run at the stadium and on the way home bought a new puppy, hence the name. He also got hit by a car in front of our house when I was 4, but he had surgery and lived (with a limp) until I was 11 or so?

Great new blog!

My first Dog looked just like Benji and I loved him dearly. Unfortunately our neighbors had a dog named Benji (for the record didn't even bare resemblance). Anywho, for some reason we named him David (yes David). I'll never forget when I called for him to get in the house and at that time people looking at buying a neighboring house, a couple, the man's name was David and you should have seen both the look on my face and his wife's. . . it was priceless! The most ironic thing is my husband of 16 years is named David. You can email me a mistakenidentityinmi@gmail.com

The first dog I had was named "Patches" and he was a bird dog. He was gentle around all 4 of us kids and he never bit anybody, even when my sister choked him and he threw up.

We lived in west Texas and Patches was always getting into trouble with porcupines. Many times we went outside to find him with quills all over him, including in his mouth!

I am not sure what happened to him but I still think of him a lot!

My first cat was named Peringa. She was a calico. I'd go sit in the grass in the backyard and she'd come running and was doing her funny backrubs on the grass. She was beautiful.

Matt and I saw this movie for a date night when we were visiting my parents during the holidays. I was thinking earlier about how I would love a copy, but probably wouldn't buy one. Harper would love it too, I'm sure.

My first dog is the one we have right now, a soft-coated wheaten terrier called Rebound. He was a stall-tactic because we felt we shouldn't try to get pregnant only a few months into our marriage! I'm off to subscribe.

My first dog was Mitzi who--unfortunately for her--became my best friend so I constantly wanted to take her for walks...in my baby carriage. It didn't take long for her to go in the other direction when I walked in the room. magjaffe@yahoo.com

The first pet that was really "mine" was a blank cat named Tinker Bell. When the family went on vacation to Disney, we brought all our pets--the cat, the dog, and the newly-aquired turtle (found in a river)--to a friend's house to watch. My cat ran out the van door as soon as I opened it (never to be seen again!). The dog somehow got loose out of their barn and was eventually found 25 miles away (AFTER we got back from our vacation)--he was apparently trying to get home. The lady of the house refused to look at/touch the turtle, so he also "mysteriously" disappeared! ...At least we got the dog back. :-(

My first dog was "Barney". He was part beagle/part ?. He was around before me but he was my buddy and I loved him so much. He used to run away all the time but he always came back! He died when I was in first grade- it was so sad. He was ornery but awesome & I used to sing "You Light Up My Life" to him. I would LOVE to win this movie!!

My first dog was a wonderful Afghan Hound named Keia. Neither my husband nor I had pets growing up and we got this puppy when we bought our first house. She was an angel and got us hooked on the breed.

My first pet was a siameise (not sure if that is spelled correctly) cat named Sissy. I got her in the first grade and she lived until I was in high school, before she died of breast cancer, yes cats get breast cancer.

I'll never forget my first dog from when I was just 3 years old. Max was a mutt...but thinking back, I believe he must have had some rottweiler or doberman in him. The people my parents got Max from said that he wouldn't get very big. Well, they were certainly wrong! Apparently, Max was not very nice either...except to me. According to my parents, he was VERY protective over me. Sadly, Max bit (and broke) my older cousin's nose. After that, Mom and Dad told me that Max went to live on a farm. Yeah right.
