Worlds Together "Ethiopia" DVD

In school our children learn about our country. They also begin to learn about other countries around the world. I think it's a great way to introduce our children to real world things. And this company knows how to do it for children to understand and enjoy.

The product: Worlds Together series takes you to countries that are fascinating yet not on the top of the list of usual travel destinations  This documentary introduces their culture, history, food, geography and people. The new Worlds Together series includes: East Africa, Ethiopia, and West Africa.

Ethiopia provides a ground level view of a lightly visited part of the world. Visit the cities of Harar, Addis Ababa. See the 800 year old Christian churches of Lalibela, some carved into volcanic rock. See the wonderful diversity of the people of Ethiopia as they go about their lives. This is a glimpse in time of a people just shaking off the slumber of isolation, about to join the world.

What I thought: This DVD really makes learning about Ethiopia fun for children. They get to see a place where many people have never been and hear about how life there is. I love that this DVD helps incorporate new ways of learning into children's lives. It's a great resource to have at home and a good addition to any school library. (Now I'm really interested in seeing the West Africa DVD, since my husband has been there several times.)

Where to buy: You can purchase the Worlds Together Ethiopia DVD online.
