Tuesday 5/10/11 Blog Hops & A Crafty Question
Good morning. I hope that you are all having a great week!
I know many of you are crafty or have an eye for design. I need a little advice. I'm making a baby blanket for my niece-to-be. I usually crochet blankets, because I feel it goes faster for me. But I decided to try knitting this one, and it's not been too bad. It's taken a bit longer (I can whip up a crocheted one pretty fast), but it's been better than I thought. I really like the results too.
Here's where I need your help. I have the main part of the blanket done, and then it has a border added to it. I have done the blanket in pink and purple, so I thought another accent color might look good on the border. So on the first row of the border, I used a cream color, the purple and pink like the rest of the blanket. I have the first border side done. I'm not sure whether I should keep it as is or change it. (That's why I stopped after the first side.)
My options are to 1) keep it the same, 2) drop the cream, so the border will just be purple/pink/purple, 3) put the cream on the outside as someone suggested, so it would be purple/pink/cream on the border, 4) other idea. What do you think?

The blanket is folded in 1/4 here, but you can see how the border looks on it. |

Friday 5/6/11 Blog Hops!
It's been another rainy, dreary week. Yesterday was nice and sunny, so that helped revive us a little. Then we're back to rain today as well.
To combat the dreariness, I have been working on knitting a baby blanket for my soon-to-be-born niece. I'm doing it in pink and purple, and I think it's coming along nicely. I took this picture last night, but I am just a little farther along today. (I’ll post a better picture when I’m farther along.) What do you think?
Make sure you enter the current giveaway going on. I will be posting more today and this weekend. Enjoy!

The Weather & Wednesday 5/4/11 Blog Hops
I don't know about you, but I am getting sick of the bad weather. I generally make a point not to complain about the weather. I live in Ohio, after all, and we definitely have 4 seasons. But those seasons don't follow the rules. If I knew for sure that on April 1st spring would be here with warmer temperatures and some rain, it would make winter a little more bearable. I wouldn't mind the late March snow storms, because there would be an end in sight. Don't you think that would help?!
Unfortunately my idea for specific ends of seasons isn't something that God designed. And I am getting really sick of the rain and cool temperatures. We've had a really, really wet spring (I'd love to share with those of you in droughts...please take our rain!). And the temperatures have been much lower than average, we're still wearing winter clothing on a weekly (if not daily) basis. Knowing that our summer vacation is quickly approaching, I can't help but wonder if we'll even be wearing our summer clothing by then. At least we're heading south, so it should be warmer there by then. (I'm also worried that now I've complained about it, we're going to have a very hot summer...which is just too much for me. Not asking for hot...just a little more warmth right now.)
How about you? Is the weather in your area driving you nuts right now? Or is it just right? Would you move for better weather? (Not me, by the way, I do like our changing seasons and can't imagine living anywhere else.)

Tuesday 5/3/11 Blog Hops
Today is my nephew, Patrick’s, birthday. His very 1st too! This last year has flown by, and it doesn’t seem possible that he’s already 1. And in approximately a month, he will be a big brother. Wow! We celebrated Patrick’s birthday with him Sunday, but I just wanted to wish him a happy birthday today too. Happy Birthday Patrick!

Monday 5/2/11 Blog Hops
It's the beginning of the week and the beginning of the month. My house is running short on groceries, so I'm trying to find time today to run get a few things. And my house could use a good cleaning sometime too. What's in store for your Monday?

Friday 4/29/11 Blog Hops!
I hope that you all are well on this Friday. The sun is out here, but it's cold. I can't believe it's been this cold in April...really all month. Brr! I'm ready for some warmer days. For now I'll deal with it, because I enjoy the sunshine no matter what. Besides we have a beach vacation coming soon, and I know that will be worth the wait.
What are you waiting for or looking forward to?
Make sure you get in on these great giveaways going on now:
