Goosebumps DVD Review

From the kids series of "spooky" chapter books by R.L. Stine, Goosebumps are also available on DVD. The Headless Ghost and Attack of the Jack-O'-Lanterns are available now on DVD. These join great DVDs already from Goosebumps, like The Scarecrow Walks at Midnight, One Day in Horrorland, A Night in the Terror Tower, and more.

If you or your children have ever read the R.L. Stine Goosebumps books, you will love these DVDs. They are spooky without being gory or too scary. Just right for elementary aged kids.

I have seen several of these DVDs. When I was tutoring for an after school program, I would take them along with me. The kids loved them. I would guess the 3rd through 8th graders liked them best. But they are also the same age group reading the books.

In the Headless Ghost DVD the episodes are "The Headless Ghost" about the ghost of a young boy would lost his head and is now looking for a new one, "Awesome Ants" where an ant farm goes crazy, and "Teacher's Pet" in which an overnight trip to a nature camp gets a little ssssnaky.

The Attack of the Jack-O'-Lanterns DVD includes "Attack of the Jack-O'-Lanterns" where a group of kids gets a little scare on Halloween night, "Vampire Breath" that leads a brother and sister to a secret place in their basement, and "Let's Get Invisible" where two boys find a strange mirror in the attic that has the special power of invisibility.

The DVDs both run about 66 minutes. They are geared at children ages 9-13. They are great for Halloween. I definitely recommend this for your elementary aged kids. And if nothing else, maybe it will pique their interest in the books as well.

Buy It: Goosebumps: The Headless Ghost & Goosebumps: Attack of the Jack-O'-Lanterns DVDs are available now.
