It's been a windy spring here in Ohio. Great kite weather for children and adults alike. We don't have a kite for our son, but we've seen plenty of other people outside taking advantage of the wind with their lovely kites.
If you or your children are into kite flying, you'll definitely enjoy this new DVD from Thomas & Friends: Thomas & The Runaway Kite. And you know, even if you're not into kites, this DVD still has plenty of other things that any Thomas lover will enjoy time and time again.
With this never-before-seen DVD, Thomas & Friends: Thomas & The Runaway Kite features full CG animation and individual voices for all the engines. It's also hosted by Driver Perkins, who is back from his stint in Thomas & Friends: Splish Splash Splosh. And an ornery parrot has to help save the day. From the publisher "Teaching timeless life lessons such as discovery, friendship and cooperation, the Thomas & Friends animated series invites children to enter a world of imagination through the tracks of a train and the words of a story."
As you may have already guessed, there is a runaway kite that Thomas must track down before the wind blows it right off the Island of Sodor. With friends like Toby, Charlie, and Gordon, Thomas is sure to rescue the kite, save a swarm of bees, and stop disasters from happening. The episodes include: "Thomas & the Runaway Kite", "Buzzy's Bees", "Toby's New Whistle", and "The Biggest Present of All".
This DVD also includes games "How Many Shapes Do You See" and "Find What Doesn't Belong" for your children to play right on the DVD player. It is targeted at children ages 2-5 years old. And it runs about 46 minutes long. Don't miss this high-flying ride!

my son actually tried this past week in our backyard because it was so nice out and he had gotten it for easter...not enough breeze...we've tucked it away for the beach

Last summer my when my son was 3 years old we spent one nice sunny day flying a kite at a local park. There was the perfect amount of wind and he thought it was just great! We are huge Thomas fans so this is a great giveaway! Thanks for the chance!

We haven't taken our son to fly a kite yet, but when I was a nanny we used to attempt to fly kites several times...and they didn't really work! I don't think it was windy enough!

My son has yet to fly a kite! Last weekend, we were in the park and there were TONS of kites in the air and he was totally fascinated by them. I think it's probably time for us to get one ourselves!

We haven't tried kite flying yet. Not much open space around our home & we're surrounded by trees, so not much wind gets through. Even our local park is mostly trees!

He'll kill me if he reads this. Our son, who is grown now, let go of his first kite when he was about 4 and his father let him hold the reel 'all by himself'. Our son cried for a good 30 minutes and we, of course, thought it was funny but kept a stiff upper lip to avoid traumatizing him.

We tried to fly a kite last summer when we were at the beach. There wasn't much wind, so it didn't go too well. We are going to try again this summer!
I tried flying a kite with my son at the park on windy days. It usually turns out pretty good and we both enjoy it.

WE love flying kites and are in fact taking Ian this weekend if it stays nice. :)
We've also had kites get stuck in trees and lost them at the beach but they are so worth it.

We haven't flown kites yet. My daughter's birthday is coming up and I plan on getting her a ladybug one because she collects them. I'll end up getting all the kids one and taking them to the beach near by. I'm very excited to try it :)

We go to the Kite Flying festival in our local park each year. The whole family has a blast and they even have a kite hospital for the kites that crash and burn.

I remember making a kite out of tissue paper when I was in grade school. It turned out really neat and I took it home and flew it every chance I got as long as it lasted!

On my son's 5th Birthday we flew kites in the afternoon. All was going well until a big gust of wind came along and my kite got stuck in a tree. He thought that was hillarious, I did not (lol).
My hubby got a stunt kite, and my daughter tried it. She dive bombed it so hard into my hubby's head, he had a concussion. Looking back it is hysterical.
Thanks for the chance.

My eldest son and I went to fly a CHEAP store-boughten kite that his grandparents purchased for him. It ripped as it first took flight! It was ok, though, he had an attention span of a puppy. "Look a flower" ... "Oh, a bird." So, it wasn't a total loss! LOL
