Reading is becoming a really fun activity in our house. I've always been a reader and enjoy all sorts of books. I've read to Zachariah from the time he was little, and he's always enjoyed reading books with me. In the last 6 months or so things have changed, he's becoming a great reader on his own. At bedtime I let him have 10 minutes with the lights on to read before going to sleep. This has been a huge highlight in my son's day. And I love that it gets him to read more. Some of our new favorite books are the Captain McFinn books.

What we thought: This book series is one that my son turns to often. We like to read before bed each night, and the Captain McFinn books come up regularly. Now Zachariah likes to read them himself (he's a great reader). And I know these books will stick with us for a while. The message is good, and the characters are a lot of fun.
